Parallel to electronicAmericas, ABINEE promoted ABINEE TEC 2009, an event that consisted of the 12th ABINEE TEC FORUM, in addition to seminars, technical conferences, workshops and panels.

With 50 speakers and 1,000 participants the first-rate conference ABINEE TEC 2009 featured a series of lectures and discussions on the most important topics in the Brazilian market for electronics. The high-quality conference rounded off electronicAmericas as the most important platform for the Brazilian electronics market.
This year the opening event had a very special guest: Mr. Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, presented at the opening ceremony of electronicAmericas.

ABINEE presented, at the 12th ABINEE TEC FORUM, the study "The Electrical and Electronic Industry of Brazil in 2020 - Current Scenario, Prospects, Prognosis and Proposed Measures". Drawn up by LCA Consultants, the document points to the setting up of a new phase for the sector in 10 years time. In terms of representation, the objective is to increase the industry's participation of the country's GDP from 4.3% in 2008 to 7% in 2020.
 
electronicAmericas and the 12th ABINEE TEC FORUM counted with the presence of the ministers of Mines and Energy (MME), Edson Lobão, and of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Miguel Jorge, in addition to the presidents of Fiesp, Paulo Skaf and of BNDES, Luciano Coutinho, among other authorities.
